At night, March 31, 2016 Father JOHN S. SLEDZIONA, C.M. unexpectedly died at the age of 73 in St. Patrick’s Church Rectory, Pelham, NH. He was a Vincentian for 54 years and priest for 45 years. Recently he was Director of Seminarian Formation and Co-Director of Permanent Deacon Formation for the diocese of [...] Of forty years in priesthood almost a half of it he dedicated to teaching and educating young people being idolized by students either at St. John Kanty Prep in Erie, PA or in Bishop Brady High School, Concord, NH. For the other half, he has been living in parochial ministry as vicar, administrator [...] The idea of cemetery germinated from the very beginning of the organization of St. Michael’s the Archangel parish in Derby, Connecticut. But it did not take fruit until 1939 when the large parcel of lawn among forest, half way between Derby and Ansonia was blessed and initiated as burial place for many Polish [...] Since first Vincentian Priests arrived to New Haven, Connecticut from Krakow in 1904 exactly ONE HUNDRED priests and brothers who lived for at least few years of their Vincentian ministry in New England departed to Eternal Father. Some came here for very short time.
