Church decorations: Dungeons and Lord’s Tombs

Dungeon is where Blessed Sacrament is held between Last Supper liturgy on Holy Thursday and Lord’s Passion on Good Friday. Lord’s Tomb is where the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the monstrance through Good Friday night and Holy Saturday until Resurrection Procession. These two are the most spectacular decorations in our churches during Easter Triduum and the Tomb remains in as an attraction through all Easter time. We would like to show you both dungeons and Lord’s tombs in the churches of our Province.

Starting with pictures from St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY and Holy Name of Jesus church, Stamford, CT we are going to show you pictures from other churches. We’ll be glad being able to collect and show as many Easter decorations  from as many of our churches as possible.   If anybody can deliver us their own pictures of dungeons and tombs, please do not hesitate to share these pictures with us. Just email them to Webmaster. Thank you in advance.
