As part of his pastoral duties he makes visitations of Catholic parishes in Brooklyn and Queens. This Sunday, June 16, Bishop Nicholas came to meet parishioners of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Greenpoint.

Superior General invites Vincentian Family to reflect on FAITH

Fr. Gregory Gay CM, Superior General of  the Congregation of the Mission and  spiritual leader of worldwide Vincentian Family  addresses its member with his invitation to reflect on Faith as the motive for feast of St. Vincent de Paul celebrations this year.  He says, “each year at the time of the feast of Saint Vincent de Paul we reflect on a theme that enables us to deepen our spirituality and to strengthen our commitment to the poor.  This year we want to reflect on the theme of faith, the central theme of our Christian identity and a theme that has been proposed by the Church.” Read the letter below. Oldest Vincentian priest in the United States dies in age of 102

Peter Goldbach CM bwWith sadness Eastern Province of the Congregation of the Mission announced the death of Fr. Peter Goldbach, C.M.  With his rosary in hand, he died peacefully at 8:00 a.m., today, April 30, 2013 in the age 102.  He was the oldest Vincentian priest in the United States and presumably in the world. For him serving the Lord as a dedicated Vincentian priest and confrere placing the needs of others before his own is what gave meaning and importance to his life.  He will be missed by his family, confreres and friends.

Superior General announces Systemic Change start-up grants for 2013

In the letter of April 18, 2013 Father Gregory Gay CM, Superior General writes: “For the sixth consecutive year, a foundation will provide $100,000 to launch projects for systemic change. The foundation has asked the Commission for the Promotion of Systemic Change work out the details for requests and distribution of funded projects… Therefore, I invite you to submit your projects to the commission for funding.
