During the state visit to USA and United Nations in 2007 President of Poland, Mr. Lech Kaczynski and his wife Maria visited St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY. They paid the visit on September 23, 2007. After a time of prayer at the altar they offered the special gift of them – Chalice and Paten. Inscription on the back of the paten reads –
GIFT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND LECH KACZYNSKI AND MARIA KACZYNSKA FOR ST. STANISLAUS KOSTKA CHURCH NEW YORK , 23 SEPTEMBER 2007.
During the week of mourning in Poland because of tragic death of President Lech Kaczynski, his wife and 94 other people travelling with them to Katyn to commemorate 70th anniversary of the massacre in which 23,000 Polish military officers were shot dead by Soviet NKVD security police in 1940.
