We prayed for the nd of war and peace for the people of Ukraine. We hope that peace will be restored to Ukraine soon…

O Mary, Mother of God and our mother, in this time of trial we turn to you. As our mother, you love us and know us: No concern of our hearts is hidden from you. Mother of mercy, how often we have experienced your watchful care and your peaceful presence! You never cease to guide us to Jesus, the prince of peace.
Yet we have strayed from that path of peace. We have forgotten the lesson learned from the tragedies of the last century, the sacrifice of the millions who fell in two world wars. We have disregarded the commitments we made as a community of nations. We have betrayed peoples’ dreams of peace and the hopes of the young. We grew sick with greed, we thought only of our own nations and their interests, we grew indifferent and caught up in our selfish needs and concerns.
We chose to ignore God, to be satisfied with our illusions, to grow arrogant and aggressive, to suppress innocent lives and to stockpile weapons. We stopped being our neighbor’s keepers and stewards of our common home. We have ravaged the garden of the earth with war, and by our sins we have broken the heart of our heavenly Father, who desires us to be brothers and sisters. We grew indifferent to everyone and everything except ourselves. Now with shame, we cry out: Forgive us, Lord!

 Our Province said goodbye to Father Łukasz Sztorc, who has worked in our Province (St. Stanislaus Kostka, Greenpoint) for the last three years. Father Łukasz went back to the Polish Province on February 23, 2022 because his visa has ended.
We would like to thank him for his dedicated service at St. Stanislaus Kostka parish and our Province. He was doing really great job while being in our Province, serving faithfully the people and setting a great priestly life example to all of us. He is a great confrere who tried to offered much of his time to our Vincentian Community of the New England Province.
We all wish Him an abundance of God’s blessings and graces in his new assignment.
We assure him of remembrance in our prayers.

 We just want to inform you that on February 11th, 2022, Rev. Wacław Hlond CM, a resident priest of St. Joseph in Ansonia, was transported from Lord Chamberlain Rehab Center to:

Fr. Wacław will stay there permanently due to his health condition and an older age.
Our Province keep Him in our prayers. We believe that it is the best way to take care of His needs and health issues. Fr. Wacław is pleased with his new accommodation and the help He receives there.
After falling in his room and not being able to climb stairs, he was taken to the Griffin Hospital. After few days He was sent to Lord Chamberlain Short Term Rehab Center in Shelton, CT., where he spent three weeks.
Fr. Mitchell Wanat CM visits Him daily.
Exactly 120 years ago, on December 28, 1901 Most Rev. Michael Tierney, the 6th Bishop of Hartford erected the parish of St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr in New Haven, Connecticut. His decision met the needs of Polish immigrants in the area organized in the Society of Saint Stanislaus. At the beginning the parish didn’t have their own place of worship.

 Very Rev. Marek Sadowski Cm, our Provincial of the New England Province was presiding and preaching at the Advent Retreat Program which prepares faithful for a more meaningful experience of Christmas. The Retreat took place from the evening Mass on Saturday, December 11th, 2021 until Wednesday, December 15th, 2021 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, in Brooklyn New York.

The solemn closing of the yearly 40-Hour Eucharistic Devotion was held Tuesday, November 30 in conjunction with a Mass of thanksgiving commemorating the 125th Anniversary of our parish. Bishop Witold Mroziewski, Auxiliary Bishop of Brooklyn, was the Presider. Many confreres, among them Father Visitor G. Marek Sadowski, and priests from the Diocese of Brooklyn, participated in the concelebrated Mass that was followed by the Eucharistic Devotion and procession. All parish organizations as well as school children, altar servers and the Krakowianki and Gorale folk group participated in the mass and procession.
