It is with a great deal of sorrow and regret that I received this message announcing Fr. Julian’s passage. I first met him in May/June 1980 when he gave an address in the Kanty cafeteria regarding the necessary closing of Kanty Prep. Since then, we exchanged holiday greetings over several years. I
remember very vividly how he always stressed his dedication and love for the priesthood. He was very happy in his chosen vocation. He came from St. Casimir’s parish in Buffalo, where my wife was a member before we were married. She remembered members of the Szumilo family. We offer our prayers
and sincere condolences to his remaining family and to the entire Vincentian community. He was an embodiment of the Vincentian spirit.
